Ulog #15 - Goodbye my Grade 7 Advisory Class
A blessed Saturday to all Steemians.
Me and my Grade 7 advisory class will be your celebrities today. On Monday, teachers will be expecting a new set of students with the new principal's decision to reschedule teachers' load because of the incoming ten newly-hired teachers.
Upon knowing that I will be having a new advisory class in Grade 9 level, I prefer to bid goodbye in my last one hour session with them.
It was quite sad, when they sang three goodbye songs with some who shed tears. When I looked their teary eyes, I can't resist pretending I was strong, I was carried to almost cry imagining their young heart when they all said that they were having a set of kind teachers. Good thing a mother came and the drama was stopped and she was asking why her daughter was crying when I entertained the parent. We continued trying to be happy when the mother went home.
It was last June 4 when we had our first day of classes for the school year. In the secondary school, each subject is taught by a teacher with the same major. I am their TLE teacher, and according to them they are so lucky to have those set of kind teachers. It is expected that they can have different set of teachers. Like me when I had three Grade 7 TLE, two Grade 9 TLE, one Grade 7 Filipino and one Science class ICT Elective classes, by Monday I will be having a Grade 11 Cookery and two Grade 7 English classes in addition to my two housekeeping koads.. It seems like I am Darna giving seven classes of four preparations with Filipino which is not my major.
A teacher by Philippine law will only have six hours to teach daily with a maximum of two preparations, the remaining two hours will be for paperworks. Having an advisory class is considered one load, so I had eight loads since the start of classes.
Now that we have newly- hired teachers, I only have six subjects to teach, praise the Lord. But this time my Filipino is out English is in, both are not my major. Pandiwa, Pang-abay, Pang-uri, etc. are eliminated now for Verb, Adverb, Adjective, more nosebleed to occur. Writing English blogs in Steemit may be helpful, lol.
Again, in times like this a teacher will go back to studying, the only strategy. An educator is fit to these famous lines:
You cannot teach of what you don't have.
In a classroom, there is a teaching-learning process: that a teacher brings learning to the students but unknowingly, the teacher also learns a lot from the students.
I'm your @ulogger at this hour, a celebrity with my students...
