long weekend: Vale Verzasca
Here in Switzerland and I guess a lot of the world its a long weekend with the Monday off.
One of the wedding presents we got last year was a one night stay in a small hotel in Ascona in Tessin on Lago Maggiore
This is a lake that borders the north of Italy and Tessin, the Italian speaking part of Switzerland.
And even though it is only a few hours drive from where we live it feels totally different. Crossing those mountains brings a different kind of mentality. It immediately is the southern mentality and a bit more holiday feeling.
I have been thouroughly enjoying this mini holiday. Yesterday we did a small hike in the Verasca Valley which is famous for the green river that flows through it.
I took a ton of pictures but have not had time to sort throug all of them but here are some that should share the atmosphere...

hey Steemitri, we were in Lugano just for 2 hours to get a feel for the place but it was a lot of traffic and a cycling race...
Would love to go back to the area though and take our Tent. Maybe this summer and then we will let you know and grab a good nice espresso macchiato or a sekt
