Back to "Camp Quarantine"
While some families are stuck home all day, several in Minneapolis are pitching camp at a growing tent city. On Saturday, I returned to what they're calling "Camp Quarantine".
Perhaps no one image best sums up today's state of affairs than the one above. Just a guy and his son in face masks, out for a weekend bike ride, on a trail along a fenced-off homeless camp.
I made a short video about my visit to this camp last weekend, an overview of this situation and how Natives Against Heroin (NAH) is helping out. Check it out here:
NAH was central to my documentary "The Wall", which brings me to my next update: Over the weekend this film reached a milestone by hitting 5,000 views on YouTube. That's a lot of awareness. If you haven't already, you can watch it here:
While homelessness is rising, many of us are required to stay home. Crazy times.
Mother's Day came at a good time to remind us of grounded truths about gratitude and life.
Hope all you Moms out there had a fantastic day yesterday.
