Human life is full of struggle. It is not a bed of roses. The statement symbolises a Universal truth that man can't succeed in life without facing troubles and difficulties. Every man has to work hard not only to earn his livelihood but also to shine in life. Without undergoing this pain he can't expect success.

We know that a rose plant has many thorns. A man who wants to pluck a rose has to embrace its thorn.if he is afraid of thorn, he never can smell the fragrance of a rose .This is the outword meaning of the statement . But the inner meaning is that happiness, prosperity and success of a man fully depend on his efforts which may be full of danger or painful.

Similarly , a man who does not dare to take risk, can't win success in the struggle of life. So the saying goes. "No risk, no gain." or No pain no gain." Therefore, none should be afraid of obstacles, sufferings for gaining success.
