Crypto: The "Changing of the Guard"

And no - I'm not referring to the shift change of guards in front of Buckingham Palace...

Here in Australia, Changing of the Guard is a colloquial term to refer to a scenario where the authority, or leader, in an industry, organisation, group, etc, changes.

A sporting example would be when Teams like Chicago Bulls and Manchester United had their dominant eras come to an end in their respective sports...

So I've been doing a little bit of thinking of the last couple of days - about what I can write about - and this is one of the points that I've been pondering.

Throughout history, there's been monumental events that have changed the distribution of wealth throughout certain communities and cultures. In the US, it was the Oil Rush, the Dot Com Boom (and subsequent crash). In Australia, The Gold Rush, the mining boom, and more recently the Property Boom.

I think we're currently in the midst of the Crypto Boom.

But I think this is a unique scenario than any of the aforementioned events, or probably any event full stop.

This is probably the first time we've seen a truly global movement involved in the creation of wealth like this.

There are many people who are well within their means to take advantage of the crypto boom - even now - it's not quite too late. But they won't.

Why not?

Probably a few reasons...

A lack of understanding....

A lack of foresight

Comfort with the status quo

though one of the bigger and most significant of these reasons - is that they do not want change.

I'm talking about the heavy hitters. The larger corporations... The governments.. The multi billionaires... The world as it is today has served them well - so they have no desire to adapt to a new world order, a new way of life, a new economic platform. Why would they? They have control over their industries, their countries, their communities. Investing in crypto is accepting a decentralised model of economy, of governance, of living, and for all of these people, the very last thing they want is anything decentralised.

Does Facebook, Google, Amazon, want decentralisation? Do they want transparency? Hell no. They dominate their markets. Why would they want to open their windows for all to see what's going on inside??

Does the United States, Great Britain, Germany want decentralisation? Of course not. They have control over their countries, and they want to keep it that way.

I know the markets have been terrible in weeks gone by - but it's all just noise - they'll recover (they already are to a degree), and soon we'll see new highs and January 2018 will be a distant memory, a time when we'll all wish we bought (or bought more than we did).

What I do know though, is that the world we have ahead of us, thanks in large to the changes we'll see with Cryptocurrency, will be better than the world that we're leaving behind.

(At least I hope)

Agree, but boom is not even close to where we are, we are like when Lang Hancock discovered Iron ore in the Pilbara (North-West of Australia).
The boom and biggest gains are yet to come. We are the early pioneers to how our world will operate.

That's an optimistic way of looking at it - I won't disagree - because who knows what the future holds....The market cap in April 2013 was $US1.6B.. now it's $556B (that's after it peaked at $836B)... So you're calling that the market cap within 3 years will be greater than $193T

possible i guess..

Probably not that big but anything is possible, best way to look at things is with a positive mindset.
