Reflections for self-knowledge

Hello guys, I will start my participation by reminding you all. I am sure you all will like my topic.

Just as humanity is an ancient species, self-knowledge is also ancient and, to have a clearer idea of its antiquity, we go back to the time of Homer during Ancient Greece since, during this period the Greeks came to write 7 mandates whose themes were related to knowing ourselves and, they were attributed to Heraclitus.

Researching on Self-knowledge I discovered that, from the moment they coined the term 'Self-knowledge', there has been ambiguity as far as its meaning is concerned and if that is the case of any of you I share that, when referring to Self-knowledge, we only address the information related to our personality. That is, what we want, believe and at the same time, perceive.

Keep in mind that, self-knowledge is learning to put into practice the awareness of our actions, the way to react in various situations, the thoughts and feelings we have towards ourselves or our environment. In short, self-knowledge implies knowing in detail the way we behave and perceive all the scenarios we have in life. Now, for this, the development and practice of language are elementary since, as human beings, we will always be predisposed to describe life from the narrative side.

The genesis of Self-knowledge originated thanks to observation. An example of this is that we can stop for a moment and observe in detail the strategies used during confrontations and at the same time, the modality we use to face the problem we have detected. In the same way, if we have a tendency to ask for help, we prefer to ignore them or, failing that, we have the position of ignoring what is happening.

Due to the aforementioned we notice that, all the information that we come to possess as far as ourselves is concerned, is described as Self-knowledge and thanks to it, we know how our way of thinking, feeling and reacting daily is. At this point it is essential to note that all this knowledge is modified as we advance in age and life experiences lead us to evolve as human beings. In the same way, we cannot forget that the basis of Self-knowledge is belief.

A very useful technique that we can use to be able to know ourselves is to constantly look inwards since, this journey of introspection allows us to know all the edges of the 'I' and 'SUPER-I' which, for various things that happen in life are disappearing but if we realize this in time, we will be able to stop it and so, maintain our essence and, every day, get to know ourselves better.

Let's do the following exercise, imagine that all the activities we do in a day go wrong. Let's close our eyes and press a button that is only in our imagination; By pressing, all our problems of work, economic, friends, partners or children, disappear.

Now leaving aside the imagination, I am sure that at the moment of imagining that all the problems disappeared, it allowed them to feel very good but, making a difficulty not exist is wrong because, they are part of life and, they are essential to be able to teach us to defend ourselves for that reason, the task is to learn to face them and not avoid them. It should be noted that coping also helps us to encourage our self-efficacy skills, therefore, if we are people willing to face the battles of life, we will enjoy the challenges of life and beyond seeing badly the modality of leaving our comfort zone, we will learn to enjoy the benefits it brings us.

In another order, let us always remember that, by nature we are potentially able to be aware of the defects we possess and to understand them, I will refer to the following metaphor: "Great black drops in an immensity where the wall is completely white".

Each of our defects have the ability to take the leading role of illuminating our closest environment and if we allow them to be the ones who always stand out, sooner or later they will end up overshadowing the strengths we have and, that would mean that we kill ourselves which, we should not allow. For this reason, I invite you to put positivism into practice since this technique will guide us towards the path of knowing how our emotions and thoughts are. Keep in mind that the positive posture automatically makes us always look at life with hope and in turn, we feel that we may be able to minimize our defects.

every day is a good time for us to put on some glasses and begin to see our inner reality. We can not live life deceiving ourselves and much less refusing to be the best version of ourselves because, the change begins inside us and for this, self-knowledge is the best formula to enjoy life full of happiness.
