Lhokseumawe City Museum
In order to preserve the local culture, there is one place in the center of Lhokseumawe City that is used as a place for cultural preservation. One of them is the Lhokseumawe City Museum. This museum, which has a fairly large yard, is sometimes also used as a place for performing arts and culture typical of Aceh.
For further clarity, here is a brief explanation that I can provide.
Lhokseumawe City Museum
Based on the story and also additional information from Wikipedia, Lhokseumawe City Museum has actually been around for a long time and was renovated until it stood in such a way in 2014. And only in October 2019 through the decision of the Mayor at that time, this traditional building was inaugurated as a museum.
Now the Lhokseumawe city museum is a tourist destination, as well as a place for art performances and folk festivals that are also often held. Various traditional events and other community activities are often held in this place.
What's in the Lhokseumawe City Museum Area
With a fairly large area, this museum consists of several parts. The first is of course the Traditional House of Aceh, which contains several relics of the Acehnese people of the past. (Unfortunately, for some reason this house is often closed).
However, based on the inventory evidence found on the outside, inside the museum there are several traditional weapons, household equipment, ancient manuscripts and several other historical items.
On the outside or in the yard of the Lhokseumawe City Museum, there is a Hall (hut). A place to store rice which in the local language is called Krong pade, under the house there is a tool for pounding rice into flour called Jeungki.
You can see the museum, Krong Pade and also the Hall
On May 8, 2025, I accompanied my child who attended an event held at the Lhokseumawe City Museum. I had time to take some photos and look at some of the writings in that place.
And the most unique is the Cakradonya Ship Monument, which means a legendary ship that is closely related to the history of the Aceh Kingdom. If your eyes are healthy, you can read it on the bottom of the monument.
Other things visitors can also see the monument and read the history of why the naming of Lhokseumawe City was formed, all visitors can read the history. For those of you who do not understand literacy with the Acehnese language, there are also English translations, even Arabic.

The museum is actually open every day from 8 am to 6 pm, but for the traditional Acehnese house itself, the opening and closing schedule is sometimes limited. However, for educational purposes such as student visits, the place can be opened at any time.

Entry fee
For the entrance fee to the Lhokseumawe city museum that I know, visitors are not charged any fee. Except for the parking fee outside the Lhokseumawe City Museum complex, my personal experience only paid a parking fee of IDR. 3,000 or equivalent to 1.1 Steem.

Additional photos, when I visited there
In the end, this museum becomes a source of education for the people of Aceh, especially for the people of Lhokseumawe City. This place is also an alternative to hold all activities related to the people's party, it can be a cultural exhibition or art.
For those of you who are curious, you can come directly to this place, and see the location according to what I shared in this post. Hopefully useful.
