Splinterlands Journal - Pit Ogre Review

In many ways the Pit Ogre is one of the more underappreciated assets in the Fire Splinter, and its use in recent times has continued to dwindle.

The Fire Splinter is notoriously fast paced, with a go-go-go attack style. The Pit Ogre's primary role almost necessarily places him as a front tank, and yet this is a role that can often be ill-suited for him.

Without a shield, the PO remains very susceptible to a few hard hits, particularly with the increased use of ranged attack monsters.

Yet without many options for magic attack resistance, the PO also stands out as a clear option to keep in mind.

Without a doubt, his enrage and stun capacity can be highly prized provided he can endure a few hits. Game formats that allow melee monsters to attack from all positions might do well to fit him in the second front tank position

Needless to say he thrives in environments where a lot of magic attacks are expected.

PO is best used when paired with additional armor or with a group healer. Nevertheless he remains somewhat situational at times and this in itself remains a bit disappointing.
