To receive the blessings of the ancestors, the Shraadh side is followed for 16 days. During this time food is provided to not only Brahmins but also for animal birds. It is believed that the patriarchs come to us through the birds.

Let us first know how to feed the Brahmins.
Brahmins in the scriptures have been called the causeway between the people who live in the earth and in the paternal people. In Shraddha, Brahmins should be given food in silver utensils. They are satisfied by putting objects or water in silverware. While serving food to the Brahmins, food should be served with both hands.

If one hand is served food, then the ancestors do not accept it. It is very important to have complete peace while feeding the Brahmins, because it is said that the ancestors take food through the Brahmins only.

Now we tell you who should do besides the Brahmins, who should eat food.

  • Gods, weak ones and the poor should have food.
  • If a beggar comes during Shraddha then there can be no other than good beggar. (Make this way the body of Shraddha)
  • Animals should feed food to cow, dog, crow and ant.
  • Cow, dog, ant and gods are given on leaves and crows mainly by keeping food on the ground.

Kheer should be made the most necessary in Shraddha. (This dish will not be complete without Shraadh)
Besides Kheer, also make every favorite item of ancestors.
After the Shraddh Puja, do the Brahmin donations as well as donation, dakshina and cloth.
