When you are misusing advertising

When sales do not go as expected, one of the first reactions is "let's advertise."

Wrong solution to the correct problem.

Advertising is the solution to a lack of knowledge and trust. Low sales are the problem of not having cultivated a group of potential customers (communities closer to your company than the general public). In other words, it has very few "waiting" stakeholders to take the next step.

*How do I generate a sale?

A sale is the result of several previous actions that attract prospects who then become customers.

This sequential process to attract the interested, generate confidence and there generate a sale, is a path that can hardly miss a step. It is to accompany the process to convert prospects into customers and clients into fans.

Advertising allows those who do not know it to know it, and those who already know it will build trust. And confidence does not get from day to day, it takes time and frequency, staying on the radar generating value.

What the publicity brings you:

-1.Knowledge - That the one who does not know and need you, now know that it exists.

-2.Positioning - Generate a position and an image of what is your company (pleasure or even dislike).

-3.Remembrance - Reminds people to explore more about their value proposition.

-4.Confidence - The frequency of exposure generates familiarity, familiarity generates confidence and confidence generates sales.

*When is advertising effective?

Assuming that the above steps have already been covered and that your ideal target customer now understands why you are the best choice and trust you, advertising can generate immediate sales when:

1.You just need a little help or additional reason to make the decision.

2.Your current customers find out you have new products or services.

3.Some members of your communities (again, those who already know and trust you) are seriously considering your product.

4.A special offer or price for those who have thought to buy it, makes it no longer out of reach.

Use advertising the right way

Five Golden Rules for Effective Advertising:

  1. Clearly define your target group

  2. Select the right medium

  3. Offer something of value

  4. Invite an action

  5. Measure and follow up.

Advertising is an excellent tool if you know how to use it for what works best: generate knowledge and trust.
