 “ Cordova or Apache Cordova is a framework used for native mobile applications development, it contains different APIs to facilitate the user's experience, but what's a native mobile app in the first place? Well, it can be regarded as a mobile app developed using only one mobile programming language using the very specific source code, for example, if we developed a native app that works on Android phones, we should write different code to have the same app working on iOS phones if you think about it. That's definitely wasted energy!

 One can say, why we should develop native apps in the first place? wouldn't be better to use hybrid applications that work on several systems and cross-platform? That's true if you want to develop quickly the app but in terms of performance, native apps are way better, faster, have more features, have better access to the device native functions and offer bigger freedom in the choice of commands. What Cordova offers you is a chance of getting those benefits of the native apps and at the same time not wasting your energy and time on writing new source codes if you desire to extend your app. To achieve this task, Cordova allows their users to develop mobile apps using web programming languages (HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript). In Apache Cordova's official site, the overview states that this project is destined for people which are: ” 

• - A mobile developer and want to extend an application across more than one platform, without having to re-implement it with each platform's language and tool set.
• - A web developer and want to deploy a web app that's packaged for distribution in various app store portals.
• - A mobile developer interested in mixing native application components with a WebView (special browser window) that can access device-level APIs, or if you want to develop a plugin interface between native and WebView components.

Why did I choose this project ?

“ Well for a couple of reasons, first and foremost is because I intend to develop my own mobile app in the future. Second, I wanted a long project to take my time working on it and not having to choose another one for a while and finally because the project is really helpful for many developers.”

In this part, I continued translating the cordova-docs/docs/en/dev/config_ref/index.md file and then I moved to the cordova-docs/docs/en/dev/config_ref/images.md.

The word "formal name" means "the full official name" (without any abbreviations or nicknames). That's why, the word "الاسم الرسمي" sounded perfect for me. As for the word "app-store". I've decided to go with "متجر التطبيقات".

I also discussed certain words with a moderator. Here's the new glossary:

Some strings that need special description :

String - I decided to avoid translating the word 'itself' to have a smoother translation.

String - You can clearly see that there's a repetition although the second proposition cordova-plugin-whitelist is underlined. So I've decided to only translate it once because the string is totally understandable and its main purpose is to pinpoint the author to this link for further information.

String - "Prepare" refers to a command of Cordova so the right thing was to leave it untranslated and add the Arabic translation between parenthesis.

String - Preference element is a guide that can be found in the folder 'plugin.xml', so I added the word "ملف" for more clarifications.

String - You can find the Arabic translation of "underscores"  in this Wikipedia article

String - "case-sensitivity" is defined as:

A program's ability to distinguish between uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters.

So I've decided to use "حساسية حالة الأحرف" because the Arabic translation of this word can be found in this Wikipedia article

String - TOC is short for table of content so I used "قائمة المحتويات".

String - I came across "different screen resolutions". I had to use "مختلف أنواع دقة الشاشات" because there is no plural translation for "screen resolution" (singular being "دقة الشاشة").

String - TODO is an informal tag used by programmers to refer to 'something to be done', this is way I kept it untranslated. As for MRT, it's defined as

Multiple Render Targets, or MRT, is a feature of modern graphics processing units (GPUs) that allows the programmable rendering pipeline to render images to multiple render target textures at once. 

That's is why I've added the word "خاصية" to the translation.

String - I've added "ملف" on purpose because I couldn't have the word "config.xml" properly written after "icon".

String - I came across "tiles" which are:

In the latest versions of windows, tiles are becoming more and more frequently used to replace normal icons. They can be found in the start menu, they have a rectangular shape and they display information in real time.

There is no exact translation for this word in Arabic so I've decided to use the word تايلز.

String - I couldn't find a proper translation for "locales" so I chose "الإعدادات المحلية" because locales mean:

A set of parameters that defines the user's language, region and any special variant preferences that the user wants to see in their user interface.
