Today I wanted to share a beautiful piece I acquired about a year or so ago, a 1 Ounce Pamp Suisse Palladium Bar (999.5). The Lady Fortuna has always been an eye grabbing design for me; I find myself captivated by the stunning detail and beauty.. I love the contours the shine you see in the swirls of her hair...

"PAMP" in Pamp Suisse stands for Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux. Here she is:

NOTE: I am not a precious metals dealer or in any way affiliated with Pamp Suisse, but I am including their link for the curous;

Palladium has had a great year so far, and has been the best performing precious metal. Keep in mind, all of these metals are fairly volatile, and historically Palladium has been one of the worst performing, but as they say, "every dog has his day". I'll hold on to this even if it is peaking right now because I like diversity in my holdings, and the industrial and technological applications for all metals is evolving along with our fast-paced technological age. I see it as a great investment even if it does drop in value.

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear if anyone has any insights, comments, or questions.

Pretty cool, I've been eyeballing a palladium bar myself.

It's got a lot of cool technological applications. Check it out:

"Another common use for palladium is in multilayer ceramic capacitors. These are an important part of common electronics equipment such as cell phones, laptops, fax machines, etc. Palladium is also used in connector plating for a number of electronics.

Palladium’s applications in chemistry and electronics indicate that it may become even more useful as technology progresses. Right now, palladium is being studied to find its potential for use in fuel cells and for hydrogen storage. It just may be the metal of the future. "

It's also used in Catalytic Converters. Here's where I found that info: https://www.mgsrefining.com/blog/post/2011/09/13/The-Industrial-Uses-for-Palladium.aspx

Thanks for your comment gman! I'm also a fellow supporter of the 2nd Amendment and just built my own precision AR which is pretty awesome! *Respect

That's a pretty cool metal.

Hey duckmast3r, if you're curious about specific uses for palladium I added a link under @grizzman 's post that has some cool info. Thanks for dropping by!

I've yet to get any palladium, this made me want one! upvoted!

I was buying a lot of silver and gold before I branched out into other metals, but each type has its own weight/color/other properties, so I've learned to appreciate all different types. The next special/precious metal I want to get is Rhodium, although I need to do more research first. Glad you enjoyed it mitten metals! :D

Very cool! I always wanted to add some palladium to my mix, but I'm never satisfied with what I currently have. So many great collectibles, never enough fiat to buy them all.

The next interesting (less common) metal I hope to add to my collection is Rhodium - I'll need to read up on it before I spend my fiats on it though Keep stackin'!

Awesome piece! I hold platinum, silver, gold, and rhodium but no palladium. Perhaps it's time to get a few for the sake of diversifying...
