Der Zickzackspinner ist ein Nachtfalter aus der Familie der Zahnspinner (Notodontidae). Der Falter fliegt an nicht zu trockenen Orten in der Nähe von Gewässern. Finden kann man ihn an Waldrändern mit dem Vorkommen von Pappel und Salweiden. Der nachtaktive Falter fliegt in zwei Generationen von Ende April bis September. Das Weibchen legt seine Eier in kleinen Gruppen auf die Blätter ihrer Futterpflanzen. De Verpuppung erfolgt in einem losen Gespinst am Boden. Die Puppen der ersten Generation schlüpfen im Juli und deren Nachfolger überwintern als Puppe um im nächsten Frühling zu schlüpfen. Der Falter ist noch weit verbreitet und kann an vielen Orten angetroffen werden.
The pebble prominent is a moths from the family of Notodontidae. The moth flies in not too dry places near water. It can be found at the edge of forests with poplar and goat willow. The pebble prominent moth flies in two generations from the end of April to September. The female lays her eggs in small groups on the leaves of her fodder plants. The pupation takes place in a loose web on the ground. The pupa of the first generation hatch in July and their successors spend the winter as pupa to hatch next spring. The moth is still widespread and can be found in many places.
