If you are blind or vision impared person, life can be very tough for you. Of course technological solutions are life savers. Even so its not the technology that helps people but the heros behind these technologies. NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) software is created by such heros. It is a screen reader software and it is open source so it is totally free. Unfortunately it is working only in Windows but because it is open source it may soon come to other platforms. Some mobile versions can be used also.
This software reads the computer screen for you so that internet and computer usage can be done by blind or vision impared people. Even though there are softwares like that they are pretty expensive. NVDA does the job better and it is open source.

After watching the video, i was so touched by what i saw. This is what i call REAL solution to a problem. A lot of children are ebenfiting from the software. There is this happiness withingm them. Many will have job opportunities in the future because of this. It is like a dream for many. I am happy with what i saw and what this software can do.
There is more to this software then just a simple reader as window's have mostly always had something to help those who are blind but it is incredible what NVDA are doing it's even getting people into job's where is was previously almost impossible for the blind to do such computing tasks..gosh and did I mention it's FREE!
One of the great inventions are those that help the human being, but those users who have a deficiency and this software is proof of that. Great product besides being open code so that others can collaborate to benefits of this great product, which helps blind and low income people not to limit it in the use of technology.
