There are 3 columns here.

Many years ago, Obelisk, located on the Spina wall of the hippodrome of Sultanahmet in the Roman times, is still one of the oldest monuments of Istanbul. In fact, the Spina Wall at the place where the car races are located in the middle of the historical hippodrome where there are many more works is unfortunately sunk but Sultanahmet Obelisk, Serpent Column and Knitted Column are left.

Let's get to know the *Sultanahmet Obelisk, Obelisk, among the most famous ones.

Obelisk, an ancient Egyptian artifact, is also commonly referred to as Obelisk, but it is also known as Theodosius Obelisk. The original height is about 30 meters. The obelisk is made of red granite stone.

Obelisk's move to Istanbul during the Roman period was developed as follows. 2. Constantinius, the son of Emperor Constantine, who made Constantinople the capital in the 4th century AD, brought Dikilitaş to the city of Alexandria. According to some historians, the aim was to move Istanbul, but according to some people, the aim was to stand there.

Although it is not exactly known by whom and how it was brought to Istanbul, according to the inscriptions on the obelisk, it has been kept on the ground for a while. Some sources note that the Emperor Julianus built special ships for this 200-ton piece, and Dikilitaş was brought to Istanbul from Alexandria in this way.

During the reign of Theodosius, Obelisk, the Obelisk, takes its place on the Spina Walls. It is explained that special oblique roads were made to move the obelisk column from the sea to the Sultanahmet square.

The current length of the monumental Obelisk is about 20 meters. What is in between is unknown. Historians often do not have evidence of what parts are broken if they think they are broken during the move.

It is written on the 4th corner of the 4-corner Obelisk with the ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Inscriptions.

Northwest Front: "18. Upper and Lower Egypt's possession 3. Tutmosis, after giving his sacrifice to God Amon, took all the seas and rivers with the help of Horus, and made it for the festivities for the better times of the thirtieth year of his reign.

The northern frontier: "After offering the sacrifice of the god Amon, who is the master of the secret and holy name, in great need, begging for help from him, he was determined to take the borders of the mighty ruler country, the friend of the south, friend of the religion and religion, to Mesopotamia."

Southeastern front: "Pharaoh, who has the strength, wealth, strong love, respect, and the crown of Lower and Upper Egypt, and chosen by the Sun himself, has borrowed for Ra, the father of Ra, the strength of Horus, . "

The Southern Front: "Pharaoh, the ruler of the Lower and Upper Egypt, who is the source of the grace of God Horus and bearing the title of the Son of the Sun, shines on all horizons with power and justice. He crossed the army. He wandered in the Mediterranean, defeated the whole world. He borders his border to Naharin. He went to Mesopotamia with determination and made great wars ".

Dikiltaş's marble kide is written in Latin and Greek:
Greek text: "Emperor Theodosius showed the courage to plant this stone standing on the ground for a long time, and Proclus was called for help. It was planted in this way in thirty-two days. "

The Latin text was written in the mouth of Obelisk: "I defied the precepts, but by obeying the commandments of our Supreme Master, I had to carry the victory spell over the defeated tyrants. Everything submits to Theodosius and his uninterrupted duel. I was victorious, and I was forced to rise in thirty days under the administration of captain Proclus. "

Yes, let me tell you about the friends in these obelisks.

See you…
