Digital Diary - 17 January 2018
Hey God, how You doing? You good? Me? Meh, I'm doing ok I guess. I know I should be joyful but I'm just not really feeling it today. I'm not depressed, but I'm not overly happy either. What's wrong?
Ugh, God, it's this idol I told You about. I know that You know how hard it is to let go of it, but I still have faith in this person. I still believe this person will "come right".
But this isn't my job to fix this person. To rid this person of all the bad in their lives. Who am I to judge? Who am I to take on the role of God? It's just I love this person so much that the mere thought of not being with this person is too much to handle. On the other hand, this relationship is also hurting me at times. It's keeping me from You as I mentioned. But it isn't this person's fault. It's on ME that I'm not spending enough time with You. No one else. It's on ME.
I read this e-mail that I got today.
The Habits of Jesus Teach Us 3 Lessons
Research reveals that it takes an average of 66 days to install a habit into our lives. Jesus gives us 3 good ones to follow:
1. Make it your habit to go to church—even when it isn’t always pleasant.
2. Determine to carve out some alone time with God—even when it isn’t convenient.
3. Choose every day to follow God’s will—even when it is uncomfortable.
I'm going to start doing this. There are times when I just don't feel like going to church. But when I do go, it's awesome God! It's like how could I NOT want to be here?
So I'm going to start a 30-day bible study of Proverbs again like we did last time remember? That was awesome. Remember how we read it at like 4am? Very cool. Yes I know it's going to hurt as Proverbs will show me all my faults, but I know the Word builds you up again.
Alright God, let's do this! No more fear of losing someone or something. No anxiety about a job or a place to stay. Focus on You and You will take care of the rest. You got this God! & that is flippen awesome! I don't have to worry about anything! Your Son said that Himself! Worry about nothing!
So I'm going to take Your hand and let You lead. Going to hold on real tight though ok....? :)
I'm a HUGE Fan of Jesus
yet I don't recall ever coming across him urging folks to go to church. In fact, all the non-politically influenced writings about him say the opposite. He used massive amounts of cannabis (see Exodus for the "Holy Annointing Oil" recipe) and he also taught personal sovereignty (as in, be your own person!).
