Hullo everyone
I have been on this platform for 3 weeks now and I would love to share with you what I have discovered as the basic security on Steemit.

Before joining Steemit, my friend @head1 advised me on how I should be very careful with the keys once I get them. At first I totally didn't understand what kind of keys he was talking about, until when I joined and those keys were sent to my e mail . I have done a research about these keys and I have discovered that since Steemit is a blockchain of crypto currency, so a high level of privacy is needed to ensure that your account is strongly secured and can't be hacked. And when I discovered this, I decided to keep my keys as a hard copy since this is the only way to escape hackers.

These are the keys am talking about and their functions.

POSTING KEY:
This is for everyday logins. It allows you to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem and follow or mute other accounts. So this key is used for day today activities.

ACTIVE KEY:
This is meant for more sensitive tasks. It allows you to transfer funds, power up/down transactions, convert steem dollars, vote for witnesses, update profile details and avatar, and lastly place a market order.

OWNER KEY:
This is a powerful key because it will be used to reset all other keys. It is meant to be stored offline and only used to recover a compromised account. So it will be really dangerous if this key is got by someone else.

MEMO KEY:
This is for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. In order to encrypt a memo, use the pound/# sign before it.

MASTER PASSWORD:
This is the master, it is used to generate other keys. It should only be used when you are going through account recovery. That's why it's called master password and not master key. It should be stored in a very safe storage. Don't ever let anyone come close to your master password because if he/she does, then he/she will be the owner of that account.

So now am going to take you through the steps to follow when transfering steem token to another steem user?

Click on the avatar icon, then a drop-down
menu will appear.

Click on profile from the drop-down menu.

Click on wallet.

On that menu, you will see steem option then
you click on it

Click on transfer

On that menu write the person's name whom
you are transfering the funds provided in the 'to' space plus the amount and then you
click next to confirm.

And if at anytime you need to power up your steem, follow the following steps.

Click on profile
Click on wallet
Click on steem option
Click on power up
Enter your steem amount and click on power up to confirm.
