Macro Photography: Ricaniidae Planthopper
Greetings from @fahad3728
Hope you're all well and having a great day. By the Grace of God I'm also well. Today i came up with macro photographs of a insect called Ricaniidae Planthopper. This planthopper was discovered in a sugar cane field. It was perched atop a leaf. When I first saw it, I mistook it for a butterfly. However, after doing some research on the internet, I discovered that it is a planthopper. It has a very small size. It's not visible from a distance. The lines of various hues on its wings are really attractive. Whenever I tried to make a picture of it, it would turn its face away or go to the other side of the leaf. I was lucky that he didn't fly while taking pictures. So I managed to capture some good pictures of it from different angles. Now I'm going to share these pictures with you but before let me share some information about it.
Ricaniidae is a family of planthopper insects, containing over 40 genera and 400 species worldwide. The highest diversity is in tropical Africa and Asia and in Australia. It is one of the smaller families in the planthopper superfamily Fulgoroidea. Source

Greetings mate! I really thought it's a butterfly at first, yet after reading your paragraph up there I figured I'm not the only one like that. I actually never heard of it before but it's really so beautiful especially when we are talking about its wings!
Great captures as always, keep up the good work!
