Italian Super Cup |INTER MILAN THE WINNERS

Inter Milan successfully won its first title in 2022 after defeating Juventus in the Italian Super Cup match. In the match which took place at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Wednesday (12/1/2022) Italian time, Inter Milan won through extra time with a score of 2-1. Inter Milan appear more dominating by leading possession of the ball up to 63 percent. In terms of chances, the Nerazzuri have 19 with 7 of them on target. While Juventus only had 8 chances with 2 leading to Inter Milan's goal.
However, Juventus managed to take the lead first through a goal scored by Weston McKennie which Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was unable to anticipate and brought Juventus 1-0 up. In the 35th minute, Inter Milan equalized the score in the 35th minute through Lautaro Martinez via the penalty spot. Referee Daniele Doveri who led the match awarded a penalty after Juventus' Mattia De Sciglio brought down Edin Dzeko in the box. The score changed to 1-1 and lasted until the first half ended.
Entering the second half, Inter Milan continued to attack the Juventus defense. In the 59th minute, Inter Milan got a golden opportunity to create a goal. Denzel Dumfries who received Hakan Calhanoglu's pass could not take advantage of the opportunity to tear the Bianconeri's goal which was escorted by Mattia Perin. Until the match ended the 1-1 position remained unchanged so it had to be continued to the extra time round. In extra time, Inter Milan scored the winning goal in the 120+1 minute through Alexis Sanchez. Inter Milan closed the score 2-1 and won the Italian Super Cup under Simone Inzaghi.

I'm glad Milan won this one. I had thought they would suddenly fall off after the departures of lukaku and conte and some other top stars instead they're waxing strong. I do feel sad for Juventus though.
