I woke up this morning from the far land of the dark world, ruminating on the precious gift of nature. I smile at the unfolding of event in my country. My dearest country, the home of my mothers has become an international joke.

How do we get here?
Is our independence a curse?
Was this the legacy of the fighting fathers?
This and many more questions springs up in my mind.

Many people blames the political structure but i blame the people in the country. We build up our trust in deceit of each other, we allow our strength to be channel into oppressing. The drum of wars is now our dancing step. Many blood flows like spring of rivers in the name of politics.

It is no longer human that is spearheading stealing and corruption now, it is now the turn of animals to take over from our politician. We now have incident of snake stealing and money embezzling.... What a country?
Yes, what i am i even expecting in an era of political gladiators seeking for power. Ballot paper now now a tissue paper, the real ballot paper is the currency. Everyone must hold claim to an empire of riches at the detriment of the country.

Can i still cry for nigeria?

No! No one is willing to weep for the development of the country. Everyone is now a boss at the corner of their world.
Basically every sector of the country has gotten the touch of backwardness, we can no longer boost of new innovation even when we have the raw material, manpower and the financial ability.

Education in Nigeria

What can be say of our classroom, the teaching, the structures and even the curriculum. Education in nigeria has become the shadow of the past. Most schools now rely on past glory to showcase their potential.

When the foundation is faulty what will happen to the building? The building will surely be blown off by wind.

When the sure of the kids can't be secure with a goof educational upbringing then the child becomes a nuisance to the society and the country. It is child not well educated that got to the corridor of power then only think of make corruption to wax stronger. Punctuality being the soul of business among student of old has lost it value among student of nowadays. They don't hold regards for teachers again, the country has lost it value. Government has not also help in structural buildings, we have dilapidated school structure and classes without chairs, chalkboard with loopholes. How then can their be smooth sail of a transfer of knowledge.

If you want to hide something from a black man, put it inside a book

The unavailability of a well standard library has affected the reading spirit of nigeria students. We needs school that have a standard library that allows student to read and research.
Provision of scholarship (merit) should be melted out to any student that have be able to prove himself/herself in the course of their study. This will help boost student morale. All researches being done by university student should use for the growth of the society. A whole lot of brain has being drained due to the non-chalant attitude of the government to promote best brain student in the society.

Health care

This saying can only be said of rich people and politicians in the country. The closet health care to the masses has been sucked dry by the politicians. Our hospitals can't even boost of having the common paracetamol how then can they have anti-malaria drugs.
Unavailability of enough medical personnel. Instead of employing more into the health care system, the government will rather sack them and instead employ more political portfolio. It was recorded that a total number of 35000 left the shore of nigeria for europe countries [source]. This can't but happen when there is no suitable working conditions, when salaries are being owned, when latest medical equipment are not bought, when they are no grantee of a better life after years of service.
Nigeria can boost of one of the best manpower in medicals and also have the structure capacity but we need the building capacity that will bring all disfunctional unit together. On the part of medical personnel, we should show more concern to life, save the life first before saving the money

Agricultural sector

Feed a man then you will find the way to his heart. This country survive years on agriculture. Citadel of learning was built on the proceed from agricultural sales, hospital was built from agricultural proceed, agricultural proceed built the first skyscraper, the first television and even the first stadium in the country. This and many more has been done in this country from what was realized from the sales of agricultural proceed. Nigeria can proudly boost of the following agricultural product

Cocoa, palm oil, groundnut, cashew, cassava, yam and so many more.... The land is arable and fertile to accommodate any seed planted on it as it will yield bountiful harvest which was enough for local consumption and international sales.

The country needs needs to stop heavy relying on petroleum product. A story was told of malaysia getting palm oil seed from nigeria and they seed become a big source of income for the country.
More needs to be invested into agriculture, we system needs better mechanize farming approach, provision of good fertilizer and incentive should be given as a source of encouragement to farmers. The reviving of agricultural sector will help reduce unemployment and crime rate among the youth.

Provision for professional rather than politician

It is high time we cherish our professionals rather than politicians

It is not easy to see the four walls of a classroom and come out successful without any hope of gainfully employed. Advance country of the world always take care of their professionals (lecturer, doctor, engineer, nurse, statistician, forces and more) because they know those are the ones on which the growth of the country rest on. Politician are meant to manage the country resources while those that works for it should be well rewarded. The essence of attending school is to be able to solve difficult issues in the society. Most of our professional now use their brain to solve other countries problem when Nigeria government has refuse to create that environment. Instead of we enjoying them we prefer to spend our money in importing what could have easily be done here all because of the greediness of our leaders.

Government

All policy and it implementation all rest on the government. It is the work of the government to look into build the society. Laws are made for man but their should be an institution that will be in-charge in other for the laws to be strictly adhere to by all. Laws are not respecter on anyone but it seems nigeria laws are now respecter of the government people and politicians.
We need the government to provide basic amenities such as good road, drinkable water, electricity, internet connections, well equipped public library and others. The provision of those will drive the country economy and increases its growth.

Nigeria is a giant country but we are now sleeping giant

Let awake from our slumber... This country can be great.
