Bokeh is a photography term for a photo that is unfocused and blur.
Bokeh comes from japanese (暈 け or ボ ケ) which means blurred.
The term bokeh was first popularized in English in 1997 by Photo Techniques magazine, then an editor of Make Johnston posting articles for March and April 1997 by turning the spelling from Japanese into correct pronunciation for English speakers. The term bokeh in photography appears in photography books since 1998.

  • Use a Qualified Lens

  • Use Wide Aperture

  • Approaching the subject

  • Keep Subject from Background

  • Use a telephoto lens

  • Find Contrast

  • Note the light source
