Nameless, Unknown

+

+

My heart is a building, naked and plain

built from old lumber, Left in the rain

+

+

The eaves, the trim, Knobs and shades

barring the rust, dust of the days

+

+

The windows they breathe through planks on the wall

sparing one space, for sunlight to fall

+

+

on floors untouched, except for the rays

in rooms where I once, traveled the maze

+

+

My heart is a building, vacant, but one

section of floor, where I lay undone

+

+

No furnishings slumber in corners, on walls

the doors are all closed to frighten the halls

+

+

dark, and since lonely, long forgotten

for lack of my feet, know not where they end

+

+

My footage, as square, conforms to my waist

for nothing to move, except for my face

+

+

To look at the sunlight, cutting the void

where once was the bed, I lay as a boy

+

+

My heart is a building, once called a home

now it’s just me, nameless, unknown
