Korean BBQ with the boys

But first, the BBQ. We started with Galbi, which is marinated pork and followed it up Moksal, a different cut of the pig around the shoulder/neck area.

Now one shouldn’t just eat meat alone! Be sure to throw some garlic and peppers on the grill and before eating add some more vegetables to your bite.


Here I prepared a delicious bite for myself. In it is garlic, cucumber, fermented soy bean, onions and radish. All wrapped in a sesame leaf. This was a good bite indeed.

However, you don’t have to prepare each bite like this. You can keep it simple as well. Here I just went for garlic and a slice of kimchi to add to my tasty treat.

At this particular restaurant, if you order for 4 people you get a choice of nachos or raw spicy crab to accompany your meal. Surprisingly delicious, the spicy crab never disappoints. The key to not burning your mouth off is avoiding getting the sauce on your lips. If it’s still too much, try having a cold crispy beer ;)

But wait…there’s more! To finish off the meal, most Koreans have some soup with rice. Here we chose 된장찌개 (soy bean soup) with crab, tofu and other vegetables.
