Vlog #33: Steem thoughts after hard fork 19. Steem price and finding new balance curating.
This is probably the most exiting hard fork I ever witnessed on Steemit. It has surely created a positive buzz on here.
I was not expecting the post payouts from existing posts to go up the way they have. That was a pleasant surprise for many I'm sure!
With all these 'extra' new SBD's being paid out in the coming week I do expect the Steem dollar price to come down when these dollars find themselves to exchanges.
This new HF has changed curation completely. I was expecting my voting power to increase 4x (from 3$ to 12$) but it appears as of now it's worth a bit more.
I'm not sure yet if this will last. Guess that will be clear in the coming weeks.
Today I'm going to spend finding a new balance curating. I had no time for this yesterday.
I think now more than ever it's important for me to raise the value of the Steem blockchain by using my Steempower responsibly.

I'm not sure how the voting value has gone up so much, either.
Is it because mega-whales aren't voting? Or does the linear weight 'punish' them to such an extent, that everyone else is seeing these dramatic gains?

My voting power went up but after vonting a few times I guess it is already been lowered. I will try to relearn about voting I guess.
@s3rg3. You can vote 10 times per day with 100%. With each vote, your voting power reduces a little. after 10 votes your voting power is 80%. It takes a day to get that back to 100%. Your current voting power is 63%.

I was expecting a 4x increase in voting power (from 3 to 12 dollars for myself). But my 100% is almost $80. I'm not sure why it's so high. I'm enjoying it of course. But I feel that it must come down a little over the next weeks. But I have no real explanation at this time.
Supposedly it's paying out excess rewards from past weeks. When we didn't use up the full rewards pool in the past, the remaining rewards basically sat there waiting until they were needed.
If true, the feeding frenzy will subside in the coming weeks. And we may see a short term price dip I figure, due to the flood of new steem into the market.
Wow this is really massive.. did you build this voting power up from 0? I just started 8 days ago.. and have 0.01 cent now..

It is indeed a great surprise compared to the speculations and as you mentioned I was also greatly surprised by the increment in the curation rewards and increased payout for the previous posts. Good to see your post to has increased at least 3 times compared to average payouts. If this new system lasts then I will bring in more people and eventually steem will soar high. Let's hope for the best.
It sure will be interesting to see if this will last in the future. But for now, let's enjoy it!

I eroded my voting power to 1% to test it last night and I found infinite lives ... it just kept giving my $0.18 cents over and over again!! ... CRAZY @exyle!! Another great vid man!
Totally agreed, this is one of the most profitable Hardfork ever seen... it is our responsibility to use steempower wisely, otherwise steem price will be very volatile.

Yes, with great power comes great responsibility, ha ha! I was thinking that yesterday - on Steemit-Chrismas :) - when I saw just HOW MUCH some people's votes are worth now.
Even for us "little ones" we have to pay more attention now. That's good education for when we are big :)
I'm learning as I go today. I making a small schedule on paper to record what my votes do.

thinking along side of you, steem price will go down a lil, but it's growth will make it go up more than go down imo, jesus my upvote gave u 40$ lol
