... into Dutch society’. They are not easy at all and mandatory if you want to stay in the Netherlands as a non European. As you can imagine I’m very proud of her!
You are not the only one who is proud. We, as your and now also as her family, are also very proud of her.
By the way, she looks so lovely on the picture above. A real beauty!
(You too of course!)
It seems such an alien concept on a blockchain - national exams!
One of my most macabre teaching activities used to be to get UK students to do the British version... the citizenship test... there are lots of free ones online.
About half of them failed. At 17/ 18 yrs of age. Most of the rest barely passed.
I actually produced a snarky mock version based on some of the more ludicrous questions (about historical monuments and tv shows for example) - I must dig it out.
Congratulations it must be a relief!
Hopefully one day we'll sort out the world's injustices and there won't be a need for such things!
Most of our tests revolve around the language. Listening, speaking, writing that sort of stuff, pretty useful. There is one knowledge test about the culture and even I thought some question were a little tough on that one.
The last test is about integrating into the Dutch job market. Interviews, writing a CV, finding job offers and applying for jobs.
I am not against these sort of tests. Maybe it's a Dutch thing. We tend to judge people on their Dutch language skill and if they have a job or I guess contribute to the society in one way or another.
I even notice this with my own family (aunts, uncles) and their behaviour towards Bianca now that she found a job and speaks Dutch. They open up more.
One more check mark ✔ Good Job Bianca! Great time to mark the occassion & to celebrate. Love your proud smile Mark! Bravo!!
Mom became an American citizen, in order to have less restriction on the amount of time she could legally be in USA with her husband who lives & works there, ---what a complicated, not very straight forward and expensive (& odd) process. There were so many hoops. It took a long time. Crazy Rules!
Congrats! :)
Mark @exyle this is a Proud Moment and Bianca @bkdbkd we all knew you could do it, Never a Doubt...................
What a way to start 2019.
Happy for you guys.
