Baby Sam sleepover!
My friends that have kids always tell me I have no clue what it's like to be tired and have kids.
I sure have a better idea now after this small experience. Man, I need a holiday.
From the moment he arrived yesterday till now Sam has taken most of my time. And even after he went to sleep, the worry was in the back of my mind.
He is a great little fellow though and my sister could finally go out for the first since he was born (so she said).
My sister and Thomas (boyfriend) wanted to cook me dinner yesterday as a thank you for taking care of Sam for the night. How cool! They brought Picanha, Burgers, and vegetables to grill. It was great!
Together we put Sam in his bed at around 20:00. They left after he fell asleep. It was just me then. This is how I looked pretty much the whole evening. He didn't wake up once. I went to look to see if he was still breathing several times.
Bianca was out for the night so I waited till 0:30 am till she got home and we went to sleep together. In the morning I was awakened by an unfamiliar noise. The clock said 6:20. He was awake already...
Bianca is very good with baby's so she changed his diaper and put clothes on him
I was a pro at feeding him his first bottle. I made it myself.
The rest of the morning pretty much looked like this - VIDEO
He's sleeping now. It's only been 3 hours since he first woke up but I feel like it's been a week.
I don't understand why it's so intense. But it is. Imagine day after day!
His dad will pick him up around 12:00.
I'm am very proud though that they trusted me with their son.
And I think we did our utmost best to make him feel great!
I think I'll sneak in a small nap of my own now :)

The look on your face in your video and then the cartoons brought a big smile to my face and a chuckle. :) Raising a child is 24/7. It's a lot of work and in my opinion, but the most rewarding thing there is in life. It looks like you did great man. Bravo!!
It's a huge transition b/c your time is not your own anymore. From the first second my eyes met my child's I have been filled with a love that is greater than anything mere words can describe. You will do anything to keep them safe and provide for them to make them happy. Any sacrifice you have to make you do without any hesitation.
When you said you went in several times to make sure he was still breathing I had to smile. I'm the same way still. We have 3 girls and our youngest is 3. I'm a bit of a worrier, my wife is not, she's incredible, but I'm still overly protective. I guess that's just in my nature.
You did great man and thank good for Bianca right? :) I've changed my fair share of diapers over the years, but the whole poop thing is still very scary, lol. Bravo again man! Now you deserve to go have a cold one and go enjoy that nap! :)
I have no idea what nurturing a child is like. I only seem them as little bundles of joy but I guess they can be a real hassle sometimes. Especially when they are in their sleeping cot covered in shit haha
It is always great to see Sam. He is so adorable it warms my heart seeing his deep blue eyes and his jovial, jubilant face. Great to see you are willing to look after Sam for your sister.
Despite the fact, Sam had drained all your energy at least you were able to satisfy your hunger with some Pichana and some burgers with vegetables which is pretty cool of them to do for you.
I can't believe how quickly Sam awoke but I guess kids are destined to try and make your life hell. Either keeping you up all night or waking you up early. At least Bianca is able to enjoy all of this. Amazing to see how good she is around children :)
The peek-a-boo thing with the towel made me so happy. I just can't stop smiling. Well I hope you have a great nap @exyle.
LOL! I never forget that diaper!
Haha this is parent-experience beta, I'm sure it gives you a good insight in a possible future.. I cant share any experiences in parenthood but as an 'daddy to be' I will get my portion of it later on. The moments that I get to experience with the kids of my friends and family tell me that being a dad(or mom) comes with great responsibility and changes your life for sure, it also tells me that it will make your life so much more meaningfull and you will love it if you are lucky enough to be one! For now enjoy the time you spend with him and the fact you get to hand him back over sometime later :-)
As a man spends more time caring for a child, his brain responds to the rigors and pleasures of child care more and more like that of a woman who is a child's primary caregiver. Congratulations on this new experience in your life, you really need a break after this great job. Sleep Well!
Thanks, my nap was great!
Nice to see you caring for Sam sir @exyle. You and Bianca are taking good care of him and his smile says all of it :)
Thanks, man!

He's coming back the second week of September. So I guess that's yes. :)
raising kids is a full time job.
and I mean 24/7.
After today I think it's an underrated job....
It's incredibly difficult...it's SO difficult that it requires 24/7 attention for the first few years...other wise we get what you see every day on the nightly news.
