A small new 'featured' UI change on Steemit.com + #STEEM on Twitter on the rise.
This morning I noticed a small UI change on Steemit.
I had a 'featured' post in my feed.
I read this post last night already and so I clicked the X on the right and the post disappeared forever (even after refreshing).
I then checked the @blockbrothers account and yes the 'featured' post was also there.
So, it's a new thing. Small, but I guess can be very handy for several reasons.
- General Announcements.
- Showcasing important posts.
- Specific advertisements/promotions.
As you can see I leave all my adds on Steemit.com, I want Steemit inc. to earn from them as much as they can till MIRA (= will greatly reduce the costs of infrastructure to run the blockchain) comes out.
Steem on Twitter
I saw the 'featured' post by @justineh last night because I follow the Steemit Twitter account.
It's one of the tools I use to stay up to date about Steem.
As you might know, I have become more active on Twitter to promote STEEM outside of this place.
This is my twitter: Exyle_STEEM.
And as it appears, I am not alone!
Did you know that since January the Tweets about #STEEM have gone up a lot!
More people are tweeting now about Steem than Litecoin, EOS and most other cryptocurrencies
It's good to see Steem's exposure increase outside of our own bubble.
And I'm sure we can increase those numbers.
We have the community in the end!

Steemit has become its own little microcosm of crypto users. We do have to work on branching out and becoming more mainstream if we ever want the platform to succeed in the long run. Otherwise it is destined to just dwindle away as interest shifts elsewhere.
Yes defiantly as a community together we can rais #steem on twitter to be number 2nd discussion on twitter after BTC. Steem and BTC will rock. !!👍

I have seen the community be really active on Twitter which is great! It has encouraged me to do the same as of late. I hope to becomes more active and share more posts there.

I really want to use Twitter more, but depending on who and how many people you follow it is such a huge time suck. I would rather be spending time on Steemit than trying to constantly stay up to date on my Twitter feed. It is virtually impossible unless you only follow one person. Even then if that one person is really active, you are screwed.
That is new to me. I guess they haven't make a general announcement about it
