Steemit's Choices For Weekend Beach Getaways??

We all need vacations! What is really more relaxing than a nice getaway to a great beach and warm weather/water? To me, this is a great thing. Despite being pasty white, I love these types of environments (even though sunburn is usually an unintended byproduct).

What are some things we're all looking for? For me, besides great water and weather, I typically look for the ability to usually get under the surface and do some scuba diving.

(That's not my best scuba pic, but was one of the most convenient to access to post here, haha!)

So, what else does one look for in a great spot? I'd have to say great drinks!! Not much beats having ice cold beers, margaritas, daquiris, etc. on a nice warm day while chilling on the beach with some good music and relaxing.

Since I also love other types of ocean activities, I look for those as well. One of the big ones for me is sailing. I am a big fan of taking small hoby cat boats out (or similar) and jetting around near the beach.

So, here's been my little list of the beach "to go" places that are on my list so far:

1. Miami cruise to Cuba
   This one strikes me a little. It's a short trip which is definitely nice. I'm a huge fan of cruises. They are fun and typically pretty affordable (we sneak in booze, hehe).

2. Cabo
   We're on the West Coast, so I guess this has to be in the options.

3. Probably a no-go since it'll still be fairly cold and not a whole lot of the other things I'm looking for. It is definitely close by for us though.

4. St. Thomas
   I won a free trip for a time share thing, but I think the voucher expired. I will need to see if I can get it reactivated.

5. Cuba
   How about just plain old Havana without the cruise?

6. Orlando
   This was actually a spot I had possibly considered relocating to, so might as well check it out, right?

7. Anywhere in the Caribbean basically
   Caribbean is pretty awesome. It's got everything I look for. Only drawback is the distance since I'm still stuck in California for now. The water is always gorgeous when I'm there and the weather is great too. I really don't mind the humidity, so it seems to fit me perfectly!
