My trip to the Cleveland Ohio Natural History Museum Part 1

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Curtis/Exavier here with another post. Yesterday was a pretty awesome day. Might be surprised to learn that we have a pretty kick ass history museum here. It has been a while since I've been there (years) so my girlfriend and I decided to go. I must admit that I'm really glad that we did. Fair warning, lots of pictures in this post from my day. Actually decided to split this into two posts just to make the pictures more manageable. Look below if you'd like to see what I was up to. I took way too many pictures to put them up on here, so I just put up a few. If you're curios to see more I might upload them into a slideshow on YouTube. Should go without saying, but all pictures were taken by me and owned by me. ^_^

Before anything else, we decided to grab breakfast. Drive was okay but it was a bit dreary looking out. Not a big deal, since we were going to be inside. But I still to prefer to enjoy some nice weather.

We went to a local restaurant called Tommy's. My girlfriend is a huge fan of this place. I've never been but heard good things about it and I must say that I'm glad we went. One reason she likes it is because they have some nice vegan options. Which will not a vegan my girlfriend does prefer to eat very healthy in general. We opted to get a tofu scramble and pancakes (since I had to feed my sugar craving). If you're ever in Ohio I highly recommend trying this place out. Probably some of the best pancakes I've had at a restaurant in a while. They were light, fluffy, but very thick as well. Thankfully not too sweet as well which is good for me. I've found getting closer to thirty that I don't seem to like constant sugar anymore like I did in my early 20s.

The layout of the restaurant was simple enough. Nothing fancy but the place seemed nice overall. After that, we were off to the museum!

Must say that the prehistoric exhibits is pretty awesome. It's hard to believe that some 13,000 years ago was a scene like the one above with Woolly Mammoths and giant beavers. Logically makes sense but you can forget how short we are in the grand scheme of things. Not to downplay how important we are. Reasons like this are why I enjoy looking at history or do a little traveling to places outside of my home area. It reminds about how big the world is. Personally, I've always been a huge fan of history. The Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex bones were especially nice to look at up close. Made an effort to get good pictures of both of them.
