[made by @ewuoso]

Yoruba Is a language spoken by one of the three ethnic groups we have in in Nigeria

1 Ejawo Ni NU Apon TI Ko Yo, Elogbe Omi Ila Kano

This proverb means that one should desist from something that he or she is doing and is not working for him or her. One can be doing a job and feel that the job is not paying him the way he deserves. If you want to use a proverb to talk to this kind of person, you can tell him. 'Eja wo ni nu apon ti ko yo, elo gbe omi ila kano. Meaning if something is not working for you, try something else.

Apon and Ila(okra) are names of draw soup in my language. Where the proverb comes to play is that Ila(okra) has a better draw quality than apon

2 Eni Ba Ma Ba Esu Jeun Sibi E A Gun

This proverb means that anybody that wants to dine with the devil will have a long spoon but that is a literal meaning. Th real meaning is that when dealing with someone you know to be deceitful, you have to be very careful

Esu means devil while Sibi means spoon

3 Fi Ori Ti Fi Ori Ti Lo Mu Ki Ori Agba Pa

Literally this means that it is continuous endurance that makes an old man have a bald head. The correct meaning is that the experience that an old person has is as a result to what he has gone through in the past

Ori is head while Agba is an old person

4 Igi Gogoro Ma Gun Mi Lo Ju Ati Okere Lati n Ye

For you to avoid a branch of tree shocking you in the eyes, you have to have been noticing it from afar. This means that you dont tackle problems when they have become bigger. You tackle problems as soon as you sense them or as soon as you start seeing the symptoms

Igi is Tree while Oju is Eyes

5 Aje Ke La No, Omo Ku Le Ni Tani Ko Mo Pe Aje Lo Pa Omo To Ku Le Ni

A witch cried yesterday and a child died today. Everybody knows that it was the witch that cried yesterday that killed the child that died today. This means that if a tragedy strikes after a threat, the issuer is responsible for the tragedy

Aje means Witch while Omo means child

6 Ko Ki n tan Lara Omo Oba Ko Ma Ku Dansaki

No matter how broke a child of a king is, he or she would still have a beautiful dress.

This proverb means that if someone is known for something probably and habit . No matter how the person decides to stop it, he wont be able to stop it 100%

Omo Oba means Child Of A king while Dansaki is a long beautiful dress

I hope you like what you have read.
