It is so freaking cold today. Yes, it does gets cold in Portugal too. And it is not pleasant at all.
So today I have a little reminder of the warmer, early summer (when it is not boiling hot yet). The fiery orange petals of a sun loving plant.
Chamaecereus silvestrii cactus
There seem to be some confusion about the name. I see it being called Chamaecereus sylvestrii, Chamaecereus silvestrii, Lobivia silvestri, Cereus silvestrii. I guess it can be called any of those names, but since I received it as Chamaecereus this is what I am gonna call it.
It is such a cute, small plant with huge flowers. And it's pretty harmless for a cactus ;)
So worth waiting for spring..

Thanks! I was surprised to see how big it is. It was the first time it bloomed for me.
Looks like I am gonna have other times blooming this year too :)
