Ulog No. 55: "Thank God It's Sunday!"

Today was the last Sunday service at our church for this year. We will have a 2-3-week break and we will be back on the 6th of January. Our Pastor has encouraged us to attend other local churches for those who would not be going away for the Christmas holiday. It will be a perfect opportunity for me to connect with some people that I don't regularly see especially those that don't work in our school.

At church, we had a Christmas party. Everyone brought a plate to share for morning tea / lunch. There were lots of food, but I didn't eat that much because I didn't want to come to my mother-in-law's house with a full stomach, otherwise, she'd be upset if I don't eat the food that she has prepared.

There was also Kris Kringles, where we had to bring a $10 worth of gift which would then be placed on the table along with all the other gifts. I got this gift (see picture below). I liked it, and I hope they smell really nice. I love body sprays and perfumes.

After church service, I went home and changed clothes and prepared our bathers and towels just in case my husband and I would be enthused to go for a swim at his mother's house. As always, Sunday is when we have lunch at her place and it has become more like a routine or tradition since I became part of the family. My mother-in-law loves cooking food and preparing food that it seems like there's always a "banquet" every Sunday.

Because it's their Nativity fasting period, she didn't cook meat or anything with dairy at all. We had baked marinated squids, grilled salmon, vegetables and salad! The lunch was divine!!! And because she knows how much I like Bundaberg Guava Drink, she always has a bottle of that drink for me. She's very sweet and thoughtful!!!

After lunch, my husband cleaned and prepared the swimming pool, however, I didn't feel like swimming anymore because the water was cold. We have had a cool weather the past couple of days so of course, the water is not going to get warm enough for me to stand the cold. So I suggested we'd rather play tennis.

We played tennis for an hour, and I must admit, I am not that fit at all. I should work out and do aerobics and cardio exercises more regularly. That will be my New Year's resolution.

Anyway, thank God it's Sunday and I don't have to think about my work anymore, at least for the time being, since it's the start of the Christmas break! This holiday, I will concentrate on getting my household chores done, getting fit, and read at least 2 books.

What is your plan on your Christmas break? What will be your New Year's resolution?
