Fire in the Poldarsa village
In the village of Poldarsa in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region on February 14, 2019 in the middle of the day a residential house caught fire.
According to the duty station, the building is considered residential. The owners of the house from Severodvinsk come there only in the summer.
2 tankers of 106 separate posts of the Fire Service of the Vologda region worked at the site, 1 calculation 27 of the Veliky Ustyug fire department also went to help.
In the house at the time of ignition was a local resident Michael M.
According to him, the fire started because of the wiring in the kitchen.
Barely managed to run out of the house.
The fire brigade arrived at the fire site a couple of minutes after the call, but because of the large area covered by fire, the structure could not be defended.
The locals, alarmed by such an event, watched with great excitement.
In the case when the house is no longer save, but the neighboring buildings are not in danger, then the house is left to burn down.
At the end there will be only a stove with a pipe...

That's such a sad story, I wanted today "thank goodness there was no one in there" but it appears there was someone in the house. I am glad though that he was able to escape the fire, and even though there could be a few burns here and there, he still looks fine, at least.
Having faulty wiring in a house is always a risky one, I can't imagine how bad that would have been if the whole family were home (and maybe even have kids), with the photos of the fire I am seeing, it would have been really bad. It would always be better and safe if we get these sensitive parts of our houses as this checked and get them fixed if we find fault, else, it might not end up so well... But I am glad this isn't so bad, and there aren't houses close enough to catch the fire too.
You do take great photos. Instead of seeing the dread of these photos, I seem to be seeing the vibrant color of the fire and the beautiful snowy surrounding. I guess there is beauty, even in disaster...
Thanks! This man led an antisocial lifestyle. To put it bluntly, he abused alcohol.
Hmmm... Considering the fact that he is an alcoholic, the source of the fire could be more than just a faulty wiring but well, we never can tell... Glad he is safe tho...

Does this guy live there or is he there without a permission of the owners? I've heard of seasonal houses that are empty for at least half a year (mainly during winter) and that some guys find a way to get in and spend the winter there. Why I'm saying that is that we also had cases when the house was caught by fire and they were claiming it was coming from the kitchen but after the checks it was proven that they fell asleep drunk with a cigarette next to them and this is how the fire started..
Your photos are great! I had the impression on the first one that the flames were moving until I realized that it was a still scene :)
Well done! I hope that the owners had good insurance :)
Have a great start of the week!
Thanks!
It seems to me that the reason is still not in the wiring, as this man is a homeless person.
😮Get well soon 🙏

I feel strange for contemplating the beauty of a destruction that will leave someone without shelter. But the first two photos fascinate me...
I'm glad that you like it!

I am sure they had no chance of saving the house as they are made from timber. Electrical faults are scary as they can be anywhere as they are hidden. Just happy that no one was injured and is awake up call to everyone to be aware of these types of dangers.
Faulty electrical wiring is dangerous, but even worse when a drunk lives in such a house.
The expression on the guys face tells the whole situation he had to face thang goodness he got out uninjured.

Holy heaven, what a tragedy! I love to photograph fire as it's a great subject but not like this. Good thing that no one got hurt and it was still snow. That way the fire can't spread so fast but even so, it's a tragedy. Someone has lost a home.
