Suomieksotiikkaa STNA! - Mid Summer in the City
While the Nordic countries are celebrating the best of times because it's Mid Summer, everybody out in their summer cabins, having fun with loved ones and everything is flower crowns and love and happiness, here is the other side of that coin. The almost empty city, only a few people in the scolding hot streets, junkies and alcoholics, the abandoned and unlucky left behind, like trash.
Suomieksotiikkaa STNA! (roughly translates to Finnish Exotics for fucks sake!) is a series where I show the uglier side of Finland, in the mids of all the beautiful nature. It's a sort of reality check, that it's not all winter wonderlands, lush greens and beautiful lakes in here. It's showing the gritty, old, abandoned, rotten and dirty, but it's also for finding beauty in those too.
This black and white style... I'm not sure but it really has some mesmerizing effects on me... Like an addiction...! I just keep coming to see more of that...

You are not the only one, there is just something about black and white that works so well in most situations.
There are always multiple sides to every city.
Admitting it is rare. I respect you for acknowledging and documenting reality.
Good shots, even from a photographic stand point. But much respect for being awake and seeing reality is different for everyone.
To be honest, I had to be very selective on what I shoot because it was such a nice day and there were kids in line for ice cream and all that fun stuff 😅
