Road to Steemfest - Go Fund Me!

I strip on the blockchain, now gimme your moneys!

What the hell is she talking about, you may ask. Well, this week on the series of Road to Steemfest, @anomadsoul is asking us to write about how we are going to fund our trip, from transportation, to accommodation and tickets.

Most of you probably already know that I am a full time Steemian, so I fund my trip to Steemfest in Krakow like I fund everything in life now, I blog on Steemit, and trade a little. And you already probably know that I take semi nude self portraits, but I also do a lot of other kinds of photography, and writing too.

Along with Steemfest, I have other expenses coming up too, that I did not count into this autumns budget. I wasn't planning on moving to a bigger apartment, but it's happening and I'm excited, but it's also going to cost me some moneys.

I think I mentioned this in one of the first Road to Steemfest posts, that Poland is very cheap compared to Finland, so I am glad about that, especially considering the state of cryptos these days. I'm happy I already got my plane ticket a few weeks ago, and also payed for the Airbnb last week, so those are all taken care of.

I haven't yet gotten the actual Steemfest ticket, which is the biggest expense, because I'm taking a bit of a gamble on it. In 9 days, the prices increase. When they announced the tickets, the price of Regular ticket was around 750 Steems, now it's 1015 Steems, and who knows how much it will be in a week. What ever it will be in a week, I think that is when I will get the tickets, though I hope there is some sort of pump even before that, but the prices might also plummet. I have the required liquid Steem, but the potential it holds is so great, that it sucks to be spending it in low prices.

With current prices, it's a months worth of work just for the ticket, which doesn't sound too tempting. A months wages for a few day event, if it was anything else, I wouldn't bother, but Steemfest is important to me. It hurts me to my core if I need to spend Steem when it's considerably lower that 1 dollar, I have worked really really hard to earn all them Steems I have.

There is of course also the option to get the Plankton or Minnow ticket, which are both considerably cheaper than the regular ticket, but I don't want to do that. Now, don't you think I'm judging you if you get the cheaper ticket option, I am here just talking from my perspective and what I feel like I need to do.

I have gotten so much from Steemit, my whole life got so much better because of it, and I earn a little more Steem every day. Last years Steemfest in Lisbon was a huge turning point in my life, it was an amazing event and I appreciate @roelandp so much for the work he does to make Steemfest happen, and to make it so great. I feel like it is my duty as a full time Steemian, who earns a considerable amount of Steem compared to majority in here, that I need to at least pay for the Regular ticket for Steemfest.

I just need to keep working really hard, just like I have done so far, and I keep hoping for better prices, so I could take a little bit of break from the current insane pace I keep in posting.

Ah I know what you mean. As someone who also lives on Steem alone, it's a very hard thing to do, particularly with prices so very low. If you think that Steem went to 10 dollars last years, it seems criminal to spend all that Steem on a ticket when it could be worth so much more.
But then, as you say, I suppose it's worthwhile. :) Keep doing what you're doing, Eve.
Being in the same boat, I can't help but also think how lucky we are, though, to be able to say I'm a full-time Steemian. So many others out there who don't get to know about Steem at all....

It's a damn rollercoaster and sometimes you only know that it can always go to zero, but you'll never know how high it can go. So much fun 😅 but still, choosing this over a regular job, for as long as I can possibly can!

I feel you re: ticket prices and the recent additional drop being a right pain in the butt - $1 a STEEM, even this feeling low, would have been OK for buying a ticket, the prices have gone up 25% in the past week or so.

I could really do with a freebie ticket, but either way I shall be there :)

Hey the ticket is already 70 Steems down in price compared to the time of writing this post yesterday 😂

Woop! Hopefully it will keep rising before the 22nd!

I wish I could go but traveling overseas is not in the budget this year with us building a house this past year. Maybe one of these years they will host it closer to home for me. That would be really nice or in future years having more disposable income to go. But for me it would cost nearly $3000 USD and as much as I want to go, I can not justify that kind of money for a few days right now.

Steemfest is all fun and good but I think building a house trumps that in importance :D

Yes I do agree with that statement 100%. But I do want to get to one of them someday.

Ugh - yes, I feel for you. I have some spare euros left and although after SteemFest it will all be gone, I know I'm lucky I don't have to cash out now. It's tough to work tirelessly and basically burn the STEEM for less than a dollar. Nine days is nothing, but in crypto anything can happen, at every hour of the day, and it can also go all directions, I just hope it works out for you <3

I have a little stash somewhere too, but I would kinda really really need it for real world stuff too, things that are happening sooner than in two months 😅 A week left to decide on what to do!

Well... for me it seems you just need to keep doing what you do :) For me your posts are a very nice example of what a good blend of photography and writing is! Yeah, it kind of sucks steem's price nowadays... but pretty sure things will change for the better! As for steemfest, I'm still a very tiny fish, so won't be attending for sure; just too bad I hadn't discovered Steemit one year ago, since the steemfest was in my hometown!

Thank you, that means a lot for me :) I kinda feel like I'm all over the place, but that is how my brain works and I don't want to just do one thing.

Damn, you really missed out on the previous Steemfest then!

I really did! Oh well... If I ever join one, every excuse to travel is a good excuse! ;)
