Pastel Fog
More pictures from yesterday's evening walk. I didn't want to put them all together, because the colours and mood, in my opinion, are pretty different. These ones were taken prior to the ones I published yesterday.
I wish you could have been here with me, smelt the fresh air and heard all the noises from animals and the little greeks of melting snow.
Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8.
That place looks as it was week or so behind Päijänne Tavastia and Pirkanmaa in the progression of the spring.
I may have driven past that municipality on the way from Central Ostrobothia to home a couple of summers ago. It is a heavily forested region and there is a 200 km long railway that runs through it from north to south primarily used for timber transportation. Our last Christmas tree was grown in that region.
There is a go tournament in the regional capital in May. It is somewhat uncertain whether or not I'm able to take part in it. I've won it three times in a row about ten years ago. In 2006, Lordi also won the Eurovision song contest that weekend. And the Finnish national team won a medal in the ice hockey world championship tournament. Talk about a triple whammy. I have good memories of the regional capital.
This is quite a lot north from that region. A go tournament, what is that?
I guessed that would be the case. Central Finland is quite large.
Go is an ancient oriental board game. It is in the same broad category of games as chess. There is a club also in the regional capital that hosts annual tournaments.

Yeah, I'm currently in northern central Finland.
Ahhh, I would have known it if I just heard it. It originates from Asia, right? I imagine hearing it mentioned in a book I'm listening, Crazy Rich Asians.
Yes, its origin is in China.
