Making Fluffy Pink Porridge
In Finnish this is called puolukkavispipuuro, straight translation being lingonberry whisked porridge, but fluffy pink porridge sounds better right?
It's a pretty special porridge because after you boil it, you let it cool down completely, and then whisk really good to turn it into a light and fluffy consistency that doesn't resemble porridge anymore, perfect.
This is by far my favourite porridge, and it's very delicious and pretty healthy, depending on how much sugar you pour in it. The grain used for this porridge is apparently called semolina in English, it's mannasuurimo in Finnish. You can make this porridge without berries or juice, but then it's really bland, and I don't care for bland, so I always make it with lingonberries, along with using juice my mom has made, that has a variety of Finnish berries. I don't know if anyone else uses different berries, but the traditional way is to use lingonberries, which have a tart taste to them, and it works perfectly for this porridge.
If you want a recipe, you can ask for it in the comments.

We just got Rød Grød med Fløde in Denmark.

Had to google, I think that is kiisseli in Finnish. A dessert that looks like snot.

Oh my God I bet it taste as good as it looks! I love lingonberries💜
You have lingonberries there?
I buy the frozen ones and the juice concentrate at IKEA that’s only place I’ve ever had them
Ahhhh of course Ikea has them! :D
You could sprinkle re-hydrated apples all over that fluff!!!
I'm not yet onboard with the re-hydrating part 😂
I guess if you put it in while still dry, it would add a crunch. ;-)
Damn that looks amazing! best for the cold sunsets of the fall!
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo vispipuuro, the nectar of gods.
I'm not sure I would call it nectar, maybe goo.
Well it depends on how thick it ultimately is...
Smoothies are a hip thing today, so why not vispipuuro-smoothie? A drinkable treat!
I’m a traditionalist (if that is a thing) and I do not believe in ruining a perfect thing by making it into a smoothie, that would be pyhäinhäväistys!
