Frosty Sunset
I'm currently at the Finnish countryside recovering from Steemfest and the flu that got me after it. I though I was doing better already but I felt super dizzy yesterday all evening and night. I was up until 4am watching movies, and only woke up today when the sun was setting. That went well. The sunset is at 3.15pm this time a year, and I woke up maybe an hour before that. I looked outside and it was such a beautiful, bright and frosty day that I had to run outside with my camera.
It's been raining and grey for weeks, and now it's finally sub zero temperature and wintery, even though it hasn't been snowing. This is the kind of weather I don't mind at all, even though it's cold.
Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8.
Amazing scenes! Like it! :)
The nature thanks you :)
Very pretty :)
I'm glad I'm not there though, I will watch from a safe distance, in bed, with the heating on :D
Thank you Asher! How is the weather in your part of the world? Quite a lot warmer I assume :D
14 and raining :) Not nice but at least it's not frosty!
I take frosty over raining any time!
So beautiful. The contrast of the cold frozen landscape with the warm sunset is beautiful.
I thought I could go out this past weekend to photograph some last autumn trees but I was still a green steemfest flu mucus machine.
Greetings from Spain. Looking through the window, the fields in front of me are starting to turn green already.
Steemfest really did take its toll on a lot of us, but definitely worth it! :)
You cold season doesn't last long does it? And does it ever go to sub zero?
I think cold season has not started yet. But yeah, when it starts, here it barely snows 2 or 3 days and then it is gone. But we can always go up a bit to the mountains in the Pyrenees where the snow remains until late spring.
I remember as a child it used to snow much more here.
Looks so peaceful. Hope to be able to see that some day. The Finnish countryside...not peace. Lol
Haha, you are welcome to visit. We have nothing here but nature, but if you like that, it's all good :D
Finland. Land of Nature and people that don’t hug.
Except me, I hug.
Gorgeous light. Backlit shrubs and bushes really make me feel happy! I don't know why. The front ads a certain factor to it too.
Am I the only one that didn't catch this SteemFest Bug? You know I missed the dinner at ICE. Maybe that's when they put something in y'all's food 😭
I think there were a few other people that survived without getting sick. I don't usually get sick very easily so there must have been some special poison in the dinner, I want my money back!
Hahaha. I did lick the walls at the salt mine, so that may have killed the bugs in my belly. You should have licked the wall boo. You should have licked the hell out of the wall.
Ah, that must be it! I'm sure a lot of people think I should have licked some other salty things too.
Sunset at 3:15 PM, that's like.. too early for me lol

It's too early for anyone, we get depressed up here in the north because of that. The days are still getting shorter for another month, so I think the sunset in here will be around 2pm when the day is at its shortest 😅
That is do pretty,I love frost, despite its deathly breath on the plants, all looks so ethereal and iridescent, a dangerous kind of beauty. I am bound to bed myself with the steemest flu, getting on my chest now really badly. Cuddled in blankets watching movies. Longing for outdoors
The Steemfest flu really did get us didn't it 😅 Be better soon! In the meanwhile, I'll try to provide you with some more frosty Finnish scenery.
I will play old karelian kantele music to it. 🍁😘
Get well you too. Ginger tea helps
ooooo felt the sunshine warmth
I'm glad you felt it, my fingers surely didn't 😅😂
Beautiful click's📷
Wonderful
Thank you!
Lovely photos, especially when considering the Finnish outdoor temps vs. mere 40s F here in Philly, USA.
Nature has its way with me, whether in picture, video or walking amongst it, in whatever form that may be.
A few years back, I wrote/published my first novel while living on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. In the dead of winter, I enjoyed daily strolls on the beach, to reflect and breathe...nearly every day I was one with Nature (and not a single human in either direction, for as far as the eye could see).
The solitude allowed for mind/heart expansion and creative energy to percolate, especially while standing in awe of Mama Nature. These were good days.
Peace and smiles to you.
