Exploring the Borough Market
When ever I am travelling and in a new city, I like to find a local food market to explore. I like the vibe market places have, with their long standing traditions, mixed in with new trends and cultures. I had a couple days for myself in London and I spend a lot of time walking around somewhat randomly, but I did know I wanted to check out the Borough Market near London Bridge. I walked for hours on Tuesday, slowly made my way towards the market while taking pictures all along the way. Some of which you have already seen, and a lot that you will see in the coming days.
I finally stumbled to the marketplace, which is kind of hidden into the side of the Southwark Cathedral and between rail lines. Hard to explain but it's a really nice area to walk around, peaceful even though there were a lot of people chilling in the market. I wished I had a wider lens with me so I could have gotten a better general view of the whole place, or I could have taken a few with my phone, but that I only thought of now.
Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8.
If you zoom in, you can see a lot of bees circling the cinnamon buns.
The local open markets really are the only reason I let my wife coax me into travelling.
The one in Greenwich has a special place in my mind. I had somekind of a medieval meal - it was basically roasted meat with potatoes and gravy, but it was so freaking good it blew my mind.
Perina found me seating on the sidewalk totally catatonic, crying and laughing at the same time.
That must have been some really good food! :D I wish there was photographic evidence of this!
Actually, there probably is but it's on some drive somewhere...
I want to see it!!
I'll try to find something, but I can't promise anything because I have no idea where it could be. I was there some 10 years ago.
Love this place, food is amazing just too much choice :)
You gotta have a little of everything!
Really as you said that you capture your thought through the lenses. Nice photography.
..
nice try.
