I’m a Model Now
Today I did something I’ve been super scared of; let someone else take my picture. And not just that, but to do a full nude shoot in a professional studio, by a professional photographer.
Months ago a Finnish female photographer I follow on Instagram asked if anyone wanted to model for her for a nude shoot. She had never shot nudes before and had an idea for a personal project and needed volunteers. I said I would be willing and able, and she was excited when she saw the way I use my body in my selfportraits, so we decided to shoot together.
Today was finally the shoot day and it was so fantastic! I was nervous before the shoot but as soon as I got to the studio my nerves calmed down because we hit it off so well immediately.
I was prancing aroung in the studio butt naked for hours and felt super comfortable in front of the camera. Mind you, I usually hate having my picture taken and will hide from any camera than my own. I’m a huge control freak and thus have opted for self portraits when I want to model. This shoot was like a day off for me because I got to just be in front of the camera and enjoy it, not having to worry about anything else. Bliss.
We had so much fun trying different lights and poses and I’m pretty sure we got some awesome stuff. We were so inspired that we shot for something like four hours. I know for sure that I’m going to be soooo sore tomorrow.

Why not? Well, me and my overthinking head can make up about 100 reasons, all which I have used many a times 😂
bottom line is that the pictures your produce from yourself are very professional looking, so why not? ;)

When I shoot myself, I only use available light and there is limits to what I can do, but it’s also a good thing because it pushes the creativity. Being a model for someone else is very different and I’m letting go of some of the control, which I don’t usually like. I am very selective of who I collaborate with but I now might do more with different photographers.
