Possession

Through my heart, into my veins
Your chemicals deteriorate my brain
Fueling the fears within myself
Slowly ensuring that I become insane

I resist possession of your ghost
Manipulating my body as your host
I cut my arms for blood to drain
Then burn my body without refrain
Focus on your image with hand in flame
I associate you with this pain

Cauterizing the wounds you have caused,
I know searing skin will heal with time
Cleansed of your infection I pause,
and realize that I am finally free.
