Surprise Art!

While delving into some sustainable materials we've gathered at the
@gardenofeden, I found treasure!  AGAIN!

Sandwiched inside dividers that would be used in open office spaces
to separate people working in cubicles, was this cardboard
that resembles honeycomb! 

The cardboard in this particular divider was almost completely in tact,
though had a bit of paper from the other side attached in places.

This cardboard had deteriorated in spots and was smashed in others,
but left a very interesting composition.

Looking closely and at a distance really gave me appreciation for the design
that remained, especially since it held a heavy reminder of nature.

Nature and "trash" are two of my most favorite inspirations for making art.

A little twist of my camera gave one of the sections some added interest.

What was peeled off of this cardboard was the other side of the divider.
On the inside where the cardboard was adhered still remains the imprint
of the honeycomb, making it an interesting compliment to the side
where the cardboard is still in tact.

I presently have three intriguing boards with the 3-d honeycomb, and
a couple with the imprint that together will make a beautiful presentation
hanging on a wall, though even some high quality photos of this "trash"
could make an amazing series with some purposeful editing.

It's so awesome to see how time deteriorates what man has created,
and how beautiful it can be to salvage what once had a specific purpose
and turn it into something with new life that is enjoyable in other ways.

YAY FOR THE SUSTAINABLE LIFE!

I'm so grateful that I can use this divider as a piece of art
instead of having to use it as a divider (as originally intended)
between me and a room full of others to separate ourselves
while doing a "job".
