MONOCHROME MONDAY - Kitchen Sitting
I took this photo of my daughter, silhouetted against the window in the room we called the kitchen.
This is an old building we stayed in while being renovated in a small town in Pennsylvania.
We climbed out the window behind her to wash our dishes when it rained.
I especially like this photo because it captured a very impactful point in my journey,
my grown daughter traveling across the U.S. to visit me on a five month stay away from home.
I was doing a lot of experimenting with photography in this old building.
I think it's sweet that the focus is much upon the warped floor and the chipped floor tiles,
the plastic table cloth covering,
as well as highlighting her casual perch on a backwards chair,
while our friend smoothly stepped out of the frame.

Love the backlighting in your photograph and I also love the state of Pennsylvania my grandparents live there where my grandfather worked in the railroad yards of Altoona.
Pennsylvania is pretty epic!! So much untouched nature, fresh springs, and the roads wind through the trees instead of shooting straight on cleared highways. The little town Pottsville is quite quaint and a world of its own. It was an incredible trip and I'm grateful to have taken many photos as a reminder of the magnificence of those times.
