World population growth rates

So what seems to be the problem?

The very best form of birth control is a higher standard of living. High technology provides that. Why do the Greens hate humanity? Why do they want to keep all the good things for themselves and exclude people of color?

@everittdmickey We need to look at the big picture. History shows that the world population has grown exponentially. I don’t think you can deny this. This graph is from the same source where Wikipedia got your graph.
total world population from diferent sources.png

Yes if we focus on last 5 decades we do see the annual rate of population growth has been decreasing since 1962.

When a population grows beyond the habitat’s carrying capacity, it has to reduce population and can lead to population crash and even extinction.

Your graph shows that we might be in that point of a population crash.

nope...
the graph that I've indicated shows that we're past the hump.
people are getting richer and richer.
and having fewer and fewer kids.
Lookit Japan...a perfect example.
we're NOT resource limited.
because of fracking YUGE amount of energy is now available that wasn't before.
(if you have sufficient energy you can do damn near anything)
energy is the limiting factor.
Thorium promises even MORE energy..at a cheaper rate.
Not to mention the so called 'renewables'...
solar for example..it's getting cheaper and cheaper as we speak.
(moores law comes to mind)
and asteroids...did I mention asteroids.
we've already done the preliminary steps for asteroid mining.
some of them rocks in space have TRILLIONS of dollars of resources.
just sitting there waiting for us to go get 'em.

so...with a smaller, much RICHER, population that is NOT resource or energy limited.
I don't see a problem...

Dominance! Power, control of resources..

Interesting. I've seen the world population graph climbing more slowly, but never the growth rate graph, which would of course have to be going down.

It doesn't take a big stretch of the imagination to realize this would be the case, and yet no one seems to be in a hurry to share this representation of the data.

When that line intersects zero the economic situation is going to get downright interesting. How do you sustain an economy built around growth, without growth?

I guess we'll just have to let Japan take the first hit on this one and see what works for them.

economic growth and population growth are two different things.
if the economy grows faster than the population..then its a fairly simple mathematical problem to solve that would indicate that everyone in the population is getting richer....

But do you think an economy can continue to grow even as a population declines?

No reason why not, I guess. Automation can do what people can't. So... more stuff for less people?

But it's such a fundamental shift. There's bound to be gears grinding all over the place, don't you think?

It is never okay to hate humanity nomatter what. This is so badd of the greens and they should drop this. We should love our fellow humans if not for anything atleast so that we can win God's approval

It is self-centered that many people have the world, where they love everything that is beautiful only for themselves, and practice racism in all its forms on the weak of the people in the world @everittdmickey

No I do not mean this, you have useful leaflets, and the issue of racism is a global issue @everittdmickey

error..error...translation error...

you could answer these questions, Why do the Greens hate humanity? Why do they want to keep all the good things for themselves and exclude people of color?

I'm surprised by this. I thought and understood us to be growing at an incredible rate, but clearly, this diagram (from Wikipedia) shows the percentage is low. However, when you look at the % in terms of people, that's a Billion every 12-15 years which is MUCH more in line with my original thought. The question is, where do the food and resources come from for that level of growth? i.e. do we seed more plants, live stock and drill more? Although your chart above is a GREAT influencer, it needs to be taken into context with other statistics.
