When I see a Post
Do I read it , or Skip it?

Until recently there were very few content creators on Steemit.
Typically we're a small percent of the active accounts which in turn are a small percent of the total accounts.
For example.
April 1 of this year

Notice that we had about 140K accounts...5K were active...and only about a thousand of us were posting stuff.

Recently there has been an increase in the number of users (accounts) on Steemit.
.
.
On July 9th there were over a quarter of a million accounts with almost 12K content creators who made over 18K posts.

I read purty fast
.
..but not fast ENOUGH to read 18K posts in one day.
.
SO...I have to be selective.
.
Obviously the first thing I see is the 'front page'

scrolling at a fair rate of speed.
What to select?
What is appealing to me?
is not...
no thumbnail picture.
has a picture
..but it's "busy"
...I can't really see what it is
...not only that it's in a language I can't read.
Scroll on.

...do the same..
AHA!
...a language I can understand...
a good, clear, eye catching picture
...a topic that I'm interested in...
But.
.
Apparently there was very little effort invested in formating.
That line is a run-on.
Should I clik and read it?
Naw...my time is limited..

I would mention that there are very FEW posts that do not have that run on line.
With all modesty let me show you one of mine.

Notice the picture?
The article that I was sharing din't have a good one.
..so I went to SnappyGoat
found a picture that related to the article,
and made a meme of it.
(cash cow)

Notice that the first line is short, no run on
...and applies to the article?
In this cases it's a continuation of the title.
.
"Turkey can't get free money from US, it decides climate is safe, Paris unnecessary..."
(proper grammar is sacrificed for brevity and space)

out of 18K of them daily.

the images for the SteemStatistics were taken from @elyaque blog.
One of the few people that I follow.
He does a good job.
I read his blog ever day.
Good information there.
Good quality info Everitt. Appreciate the Snappy Goat site, that will prove useful. Your advice on condensing and cleaning up the [image source] has proven very useful as well. Good post.

but there is a LOT of competition for eyeballs lately.
you post has to stand out.
