are bots

Steemit is a social media platform

I'll have my machine get with your machine

Sort:

A lot of garbage bloggers... striving to make millions...

Do you know of any moves to eradicate them (or reduce them?).

The capthca thingy majiggy would go someway to help that
( in my ' so high tech knowledge', opinion)

It's my understanding that the capthcha thingy won't work.

I wish we could get rid of all the bots!

It is a strong theme, sometimes not know what to believe; voting bots to use in less than 1 second hundreds of people vote. It is difficult to know the truth but I think the bots from harming long-term Steemit. Why people stop believing in transparency Steemit.

El potty... I don't understand what you're saying. Steemit is transparent... and how do bots harm steemit?

Yes, so far as I can tell, the platform is very transparent in how things operate, almost to a fault.

As for bots; Steemit is intended to be a social network built on a cryptocurrency backbone.

If most of the perks of the platform get determined by automation, or bots, then it really isn't a matter of the people who create the best content, but the people that float to the top will tend more towards those people who are best at manipulation or those best placed to benefit from automation.

Friends if steemit feeds on the good posts and the new users who enter, how is it that a user can feel that they will give value to their work, if there are people who write nonsense they buy votes and then they are trend. Just as good things spread bad things too and with greater speed

is El Potty a bot?

Dont know... but El Potty sounds like a bot.

I agree that bots are an issue of concern on the platform; but how do you determine which ones on that list are actual bots?

that would be an exercise for the student.
use due diligence.

The bots wouldnt be an issue... but the higher ups make the lower downs struggle. On a brighter now... I can #DoTheRobot

how do the 'higher ups' make the 'lower downs' struggle?

So... these people that join the platform... are looking to get paid for their posts. These persons that are of higher financial standing by lack of their interactivity with others force the lower part of the platform to resort to other means to make their funds. Just what I see and what they say... I myself... have found little use for bots.

"here...I'm giving you $5 for free."

"YOU BASTARD!...why didn't you give me a thousand?. You're oppressing ME!"

Never said give $5... Just said give some time... if you'd rather exchange your time for money... I imagine thats possible also. Unlike you alot of these characters are on high horses, and don't swoop down to converse with us nobodies.

the allusion was that an opportunity was presented , for free, to make some money.
but it's never good enough.
it's always 'unfair'.
I found steemit two years ago next month.
I joined (for free) and have been spending a lot of time here almost every day since then.
no other investment other than my time.

This was in reference to the bot scenario. The opportunity is fantastic. The elimination of bots would take the entire community.

Yeah it would.
I remember when there were no bots.
it was much better then.
