Tesla is inching ever closer to its China dream.
Yesterday (June 22) the company confirmed that it is “in talks” with the municipal government of Shanghai to manufacture its vehicles in the country. A Tesla spokesperson provided the following statement:

“Tesla is working with the Shanghai Municipal Government to explore the possibility of establishing a manufacturing facility in the region to serve the Chinese market. As we’ve said before, we expect to more clearly define our plans for production in China by the end of the year. Tesla is deeply committed to the Chinese market, and we continue to evaluate potential manufacturing sites around the globe to serve the local markets. While we expect most of our production to remain in the US, we do need to establish local factories to ensure affordability for the markets they serve.”

This could be very big news for Mr Elon Musk. Not to mention a major booste Tesla!! I wonder what sort of extra innovation this could lead to?Interesting read, keep them coming! Musk is an Idol of mine :)

haha daaaaaaamn. i just wrote a huge write up explaining my thoughts, aiming for a civilized debate, then hit the back button accidentally and erased the whole paragraph. will gladly engage is discussion with you in the morning, i must catch some zzzs now however. Morning bud! Ok so... um Elon Musk... I tried to step back while driving last night and look at our topic here from a broader perspective. When concerning other people who have in reality, revolutionised industry, it brings great admiration and inspiration to me to really see how those types of people who think outside the box, got to where they are and how (some not so good people, its fascinating what causes people to tick and make them are who they are, and makes for good lessons on how the public react to different personality types) Musk is an idol yes, but he is among many, many others. I think maybe in part because he was raised in South Africa, as was I, and I could use this to assimilate someone who I, as a boy, could see myself as one day, someone I could use to help me understand that people from everywhere in the world can "make-it" (if you will) Someone who I could try model some of my behaviours and patterns off of. Maybe? Its more difficult to pick up, move around the world and start again than people would think, so to have someone to pave a way for your thought process (at least part of it) does a great thing for a young boy growing up in strange lands.
Needless to say, your article, isnt wrong or misguiding. He is a Crony capitalist (I gueeeeeeeess) but he is also in my eyes a philanthropist and does alot to physically stand behind his companies and what they are doing in the world.
Am I ok with his massive tax savings and kickbacks, not at all, I dont use that as a model to base myself off, but Instead I see a man who is working on things like, putting a tube in the sky to connect Earth to space, or giving kids opportunities to show what AI skills they can bring to the table to rapidly and I mean rapidly advance the AI industry itself.
Some of his stuff is absolutley radical yeah, but so was the internet when it first came out, and same with crypto now (which is some of the coolest stuff ive ever researched btw)
I think there will always be negative connotations stuck with people who are influential, labels of a sort, and you can justify anything if you try hard enough to (and I did that alot) So instead of that, I focus on the positive things he does, the good things in the world. Just the same as one mans trash is another mans treasure, one mans brilliant idea, is another mans sceme. That and its way easier to read these things and take heed in a positive light rather than digging deep and investigating negative issues which really, you arnt going to do much about because others do just the same and worse, and dont have the initiave Mr Musk does. Untimatley all that negative way of thinking just makes you feel shitty and depressed about the world (it did me anyways over time, because lets face it, the world is a rough place for most people ), rather than feeling happy and positive.
