Tech Companies Try Apprenticeships
To Fill The Tech Skills Gap
.......................................................................................................................................................................................
.........Public Schooling is pretty much worthless. To be employable the kids need to be taught SOMEHOW...........
- Right now, there are more than 6 million jobs in the U.S. that are going unfilled because employers can’t find candidates with the right skills, according to the Labor Department. In the IT industry alone, Code.org predicts that by 2020, there will be one million more tech jobs than applicants who can fill them.
Apprenticeships would help the problem where students go to school for 4 or more years and then get out into the workforce and decide they hate doing what they went to school for. Of course schools would probably not like this since they would miss out on the opportunity of students paying for an education twice. Another problem is that way too many people believe that you have to pay a school in order to learn anything and that once you are done with school, you stop learning.
In present education system only theoretical knowledge is given to childrens there is lack of practical knowledge
Thank you sir @everittdmickey
Germany has had some success with this: Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship has a long tradition in Germany, but since it has always been an alternative to college, many will value a college education more. However if you take a 30 year old you will often see the one with the apprenticeship having a far more stable and better paying job.
It heavily depends on the apprenticeship though, if you apprentice in a backery or the health industry, you are fucked.
according to the article there are not enough qualified applicants for the jobs...they felt the need to do the job public education didn't do.
well that is because the education system has always just been a tool to keep the social classes divided. The notion that high education is actually needed for a job and not just a way to protect the upper class is something pretty recent.
