Business forced into liquidation
How's that Green Energy working out for ya?

Quote from article.

  • South Australia’s sky-high electricity prices have forced an Adelaide plastics recycler to shut its doors,” says this article on abc.net.au. The shut-down will cost 35 workers their jobs.Plastics Granulating Services managing director Stephen Scherer said the high cost of power had crippled his business of 38 years and had led to his company being placed in liquidation.

Solar, Wind and other alternative power sources are less reliable, more expensive . An industrial society depends on cheap, reliable electricity to survive. Burning coal and oil has lots of downsides, pollution being a huge issue.

Hydro Electric Power and Nuclear are both non-polluting and provide low cost energy. Industrial rates can be as low as .02 to .03 US cents per kilowatt hour.

BMW's new electric cars i3 and i8 are made from lots of carbon fiber. The company had to set-up a plant to produce the carbon fiber in Eastern Washington State, as Germany, with its lauded alternative energy programs, has very expensive electricity.

Stupidly or perhaps because of a combination of national pride and political pressure, BMW chose to ship the carbon fiber to a brand new plant in Germany where the electric cars are actually made. The U.S. is the largest market for the i3. Obviously the cost is much higher to produce, than if BMW chose to stay where electricity was cheaper, as well as labor, taxes, etc.

Australia has so many anti-nuclear people that their Navy would rather pay more money to buy and operate old fashioned Diesel/Electric submarines, than purchase superior nuclear subs from the U.S. at a much cheaper initial cost and lower life-cycle cost. The new boats have a power core that lasts for the life of the boat, 32 years, without refueling!!!

Without cheap and reliable electricity, Australian industries will not be able to compete in the future and you will see more job losses and less opportunity. Without support for nuclear energy, Australia can only hope its competitors see higher electricity rates, so as to level the playing field for them. Not a good strategy.

I'm very disappointed in Oz.
so sad what you are becoming..

Agreed, New Zealand and to a lesser extent, Australia seem to be functioning as test beds for the Globalist Bankers and Political Toadies.

If something is bad for human freedom, it will be tried out in these two countries first, as the population is small and mostly compliant.

guess we'll see how it all works out ...huh?

When it crashes I suppose Uncle Sugar is to blame?

world's gone to the shitters...

We need some other power resources.

Thorium is just sitting there.

Green energy is just another money grabbing hare brain scheme! I'm all for conservation but let's be economically reasonable.
