the problem with the texas church shooting is that the people in the church didn't have any guns.

I don't think the government banned guns in church, I rather think that it's the church itself.
I think that you are mistaken.
I very well could be. But there are never any posted legal notices that prevent guns from being brought into a church. That's usually something that just isn't done. Although in the wild wild west, people never had to worry about a whacko walking into a church with a gun.
